Gas control points and installations are designed to reduce natural gas in accordance with GOST 5542-87 in gas distribution networks, automatically maintain pressure at a given level regardless of changes in flow and inlet pressure, and automatically stop gas supply in case of emergency pressure increases or decreases above the specified limits, as well as commercial accounting of gas volume when using various types of gas meters.
The composition of the points and installations may include one or more ventilation lines, a gas flow metering unit and a heater, if necessary. The reduction line must include a gas filter, a shut-off safety valve, a pressure regulator, and a relief safety valve. Combined gas regulators can be used in reduction lines. Gas equipment can be placed in a cabinet (GRPSH), in a block (GRPB), on a frame (GRU).
